1- Concept / Creativity and Overall Experience
Demonstrating that sites are frequently more -- or less than the sum of their parts, the overall experience encompasses content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, and interactivity, but it also includes the intangibles that make one stay or leave. One has probably had a good overall experience if (s)he comes back regularly, places a bookmark, signs up for a newsletter, participates, emails the site to a friend, or stays for a while, intrigued.
- Innovative ideas that lead to final design solution
- Original solutions for interactivity
2- Technical / Ease of use / Navigation
Structure and navigation refers to the framework of a site, the organization of content, the prioritization of information, and the method in which you move through the site. Sites with good structure and navigation are consistent, intuitive and transparent. They allow you to form a mental model of the information provided, where to find things, and what to expect when you click. Good navigation gets you where you want to go quickly and offers easy access to the breadth and depth of the site's content.
- Outstanding use of special software applications
- Data base: ex. Oracle, S Q L Server, IBM DB2 … etc
- Language used: example net frame work ( ASP, ADO,C# VB ) PERL ( CGI … etc ) JAVA Script + more…etc. (.Net, JSP, EJB, Perl, PHP, ASP, ColdFusion, SQL, C, C++, Visual Basic, HTML/HTTP, XML, DHTML, WAP, CSS, SSL)
- Compatibility and adaptation of the design.
3- Content/Structure
Content is the information provided on the site. It is not just text, but music, sound, animation, or video -- anything that communicates a sites body of knowledge. Good content should be engaging, relevant, and appropriate for the audience. You can tell it's been developed for the Web because it's clear and concise and it works in the medium. Good content takes a stand. It has a voice, a point of view. It may be informative, useful, or funny but it always leaves you wanting more.
- Hierarchy
- Organization:
- of links
- of contents
- of Data
- Functionality:
- Easy navigation & user friendly
- Accessibility of the website (KB size)
- HTML (asp, php, cgi, xml, sql …etc) formats preferably should not exceed 60KB/webpage in each website.
- Flash animation (swf) preferably should not exceed: 300KB (the smaller the better).
- Consistency:
- In design of all the inner and outer web pages of the website.
4- Visual design solution/ Aesthetics
Visual design is the appearance of the site. It's more than just a pretty homepage and it doesn't have to be cutting edge or trendy. Good visual design is high quality, appropriate, and relevant for the audience and the message it is supporting. It communicates a visual experience and may even take your breath away.
- Proper application of design principles: Harmony, balance, color scheme, contrast.
- Interactivity of type and image.
- Sequential design: visual links between main page and inside pages with the respect of the site brand and identity.
5- Interactivity
Interactivity is the way that a site allows you to do something. Good interactivity is more than a rollover or choosing what to click on next; it allows you, as a user, to give and receive. It insists that you participate, not spectate.
It's input/output, as in searches, chat rooms, e-commerce and gaming or notification agents, peer-to-peer applications and real-time feedback. Its make your own, distribute your own, or speak your mind so others can see, hear or respond. Interactive elements are what separate the Web from other media. Their inclusion should make it clear that you aren't reading a magazine or watching TV anymore
- Building interesting valuable experience:
- Control, creativity, productivity, communication, adaptation.

Our Guiding Principles
The judging process for the ITTWA competition is taken very seriously by us. We select individuals to serve as judges who have distinguished themselves in their field and who demonstrate exceptional leadership ability and vision. We hold our judges to the highest standards of fairness, accuracy and integrity. The entire judging process adheres firmly to these guiding principles.
Equal Treatment of All Entries
We believe the Internet is one of the world’s greatest equalizers and unifying forces. It allows for people all over the world to compete in the same arena, providing equal access to information and global markets. ITTWA judges evaluate every entry with a discerning eye towards project scope and strategic goals. A site is not less worthy than its peer merely because it is smaller. We recognize that a young freelancer can build a website as impressive as a team in a Fortune 500 company. A professional execution under a limited budget is more worthy than a mediocre execution for a well-funded initiative. It is execution and workmanship that matters not total project scope.
Ensuring Impartiality
We make all efforts to avoid conflicts of interest in the judging process (such as inadvertently assigning a judge to evaluate an entry with which he/she is associated). At least three judges are assigned to each entry at random from within the pool of judges whose expertise is relevant. All judges are screened before being assigned an entry. All judges are bound by a code of ethics to uphold our guiding principles and recue themselves from judging an entry that may present a conflict of interest.
Our Judges
All of our judges are distinguished professionals and our judges are leaders in web design, advertising, public relations, publishing, news and other industries. They are proficient in such areas as user interface design, communications and marketing. We select judges who we believe will uphold our guiding principles (see above) and for their expertise and knowledge. All decisions of the judges are final; judges’ decisions cannot be appealed.
Our Judging System
By adhering to the specific guidelines and criteria of this system our judges are able to maintain the highest degree of fairness, accuracy and integrity; competently and effectively evaluate entries; and, deliver clear results.
We would like to wish all of our entrants the best of luck and also,
We would like to invite all interested companies and corporations to sponsor this event and to participate in the award ceremony handing out trophies and prizes to winners.
